Cyber threats and laws continue to evolve, challenging leaders in private and public sectors to decide how to best position their organization for success. In this Symposium, we explore “reasonable security” and insider threats from various perspectives ranging from public policy, national security, cyber insurance, insider threat detection technology and building a defensible and reasonable security program. Hear from experts what leading organizations are doing to link their cyber risk management to overall organizational strategy in a world of shifting threats, cyber laws, and regulatory expectations. A mock trial will drive home certain challenges leaders face in developing proactive and reactive cyber strategies.  While the panels of diverse experts drive towards thought leadership, each panel will conclude with specific recommendations for actionable guidance for all attendees.

The Symposium’s panels and speakers will contemplate a hypothetical fact pattern involving a fictitious chemical manufacturer (Acme) that makes compounds used in explosives and baby formula. Acme has an insider that shares her credentials with hackers. The hacker then uses those credentials to alter the temperature displays in Acme’s manufacturing facilities causing a recall and national shortage of baby formula.

While the panels of diverse experts drive toward thought leadership, each panel will conclude with specific recommendations for actionable guidance.
