A Key to Understanding the Purpose and Potential of Catholic Higher Education
At USD, like most other Catholic colleges and universities, students are required to take multiple courses in theology. This presentation, offered by Michael Lovette-Colyer, Ph.D., Vice President for Mission Integration, will illuminate the reason for this requirement, explore what theology is and is not, and articulate how theological studies are core to the purpose of Catholic higher education. Moreover, this session will consider why and how theology is relevant to students from all religious backgrounds and identities and describe how a theological vision is at the heart of USD's Catholic mission, vision and values.
Bridges Academy is a continuing education program hosted by the University of San Diego Office of Planned Giving. While the lecture series is free to all participants, the Office of Planned Giving encourages the support of the Bridges Endowed Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to undergraduate students. Thank you all so very much for making this possible.
