Please consider applying for a new faculty development program that will take place in the 2022-23 academic year.  The Faculty Seminar on the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (CIT) is a unique opportunity to share in deep reflection and conversation, thereby experiencing a robust sense of community.  Participants will develop a renewed appreciation for their academic vocation, experience a richer sense of belonging at USD, establish greater comfort with the CIT and Catholic higher education in general, and form a stronger connection with USD's mission.  Faculty who complete the seminar will receive a $1,000 stipend as well as a formal letter of acknowledgement for inclusion in advancement, rank and tenure files.

Faculty from all disciplines and academic units - as well as from all faith backgrounds (including those who do not identify with a religious tradition) - are warmly welcome to participate.  No previous experience with or knowledge of the tradition is necessary; participants need only be curious and interested in learning more about the CIT.

The program consists of eight monthly gatherings, each 90 minutes in length.  The group will gather on Friday's, from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m., with lunch provided.  The seminar will be facilitated by Victor Carmona, Ph.D. (Assistant Professor, Theology and Religious Studies) and Michael Lovette-Colyer, Ph.D. (Vice President, Mission Integration).

Applications for the seminar are due by May 1st with notifications made no later than May 16th.
