About the Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage -

The University of San Diego Alumni Association is excited to invite you to join fellow Toreros, friends, and family on an incredible opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the faithful along Spain’s Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James).  Our guided journey, including accommodations, transportation, special meals and experiences, will begin in Spain’s capital, Madrid.  In addition to the art of El Prado and delicious tapas, we will visit the USD Madrid Center as well as a travel to the village of Alcala de Henares to experience the University of Alcala, the design inspiration for USD.  Soon after we will walk in the footsteps of fellow Pilgrims, who have faithfully walked Roman paths since the 9th century.  Our Pilgrimage will conclude in Santiago de Compostela and Fisterra (Finisterre), where we will have time for reflection and perhaps collecting sea shells based on the stories of St. James & the Scallop Shell.  In the words of Fr. Capone, “Might God be calling you out of the pandemic to pilgrimage?  Walking the Camino de Santiago may help us find the God we seek or draw us closer to the One whom we follow.”
