Undergraduate students registering for a Recreation class for-credit must use the MySanDiego registration portal. Please use the search code "EDRC" to find your class section and number and register for your class using the appropriate CRN code. Attendance rules apply to earn a passing grade. The fee for the credit class will be billed through student accounts.
For non-credit classes, please sign up on the Campus Recreation Registration site. Non-Credit classes are open to any active Torero ID card holder. All non-credit classes have a required fee. Fees are paid online with a debit/credit card at the time of registration.
- For-Credit Registration (Undergraduates only)
- Fee paid out of Student Account process
- Non-Credit Registration (Undergraduates, graduates, employees)
- Fee paid immediately upon registration with a credit/debit card
Every recreation class has an associated fee. You can see the fee outlined next to the class information on our semester schedule or on the registration portal.
For students enrolling for-credit, these fees are charged to your student account
For students/participants enrolling in non-credit recreation classes, you must pay the fee when signing up for the class on the Campus Recreation website.
This process for both for-credit and non-credit off-campus classes excludes Mission Bay Aquatic Center (MBAC) courses, SCUBA courses, and the Riverwalk Golf Classes. For these classes, students must pay the off-campus Vendor directly prior to taking the class.
Fees are non-refundable after the add/drop deadline per term has passed. Recreation will not permit late drops or refunds after the University's add/drop deadline. If you drop a class before the posted add/drop deadline, you may receive a 100% refund.
Undergraduate students may take classes for credit through the registrar for .5 units per semester. These credit classes are on a Pass/Fail criterion and this grade is based on attendance. This criteria is outlined on each class syllabus, which is distributed to each student electronically via email and reviewed in person at the start of the semester. Accumulating more than the listed unexcused absences (as noted on the specific class syllabus) will result in an automatic fail unless the appropriate make-ups are made with instructor approval by an indicated deadline.
- Please note that arriving to class more than 15-mins late or leaving class more than 15-mins prior to the scheduled end time also counts as an (1) unexcused absence.
The department permits up to two (2) excused absences per semester class. Please review specific criteria for excused absences outlined below.
- An excused absence must be accompanied by a hard copy note from a doctor or other official personnel and delivered to either the listed instructor of the course or to the Recreation Programs Supervisor within a week of incurring the excused absence. Notes will be reviewed and then the determination will be made within a week if it will qualify as an excused or unexcused absence. Even with excused absences, the department can only permit so many so it is up to the students to communicate with their instructor and the department and review their particular situation to see if attendance accommodations can be made.
If you do not wish to be graded or receive credit, any member may sign up (when space is available) as non-credit through the Campus Recreation website. All non-credit classes have a required fee. Note that priority registration goes to credit students. Non-credit participants do not need to follow attendance policies and will not receive a grade or credits.
All decisions regarding taking the class as credit Vs non-credit must be made by the University's add/drop deadline per enrolled semester. After that deadline, no changes can be made.
Service animals specifically trained to assist a person with a disability are welcome. No other animals, including pets, therapy animals, or emotional support animals, are allowed.
