Alumni Christmas Mass

Mass will begin with a beautiful candlelight processional, which is perfect for the Christmas season.

We are working with our friends in University Ministry to live stream this Mass. Please indicate on the registration if you're hoping to participate in-person or virtually.

This year's Mass celebrant is Monsignor Dan Dillabough '70.

Also, we will be be paying tribute to Our Lady of Guadalupe on the eve of her feast day towards the end of Mass in partnership with the university's Latino Alumni Network.

The reception will feature holiday beverages such as spiced apple cider and hot chocolate and light snacks.

USD Food Pantry and Torero Closet
The Student Alumni Association leadership team asks that attendees bring donations if possible to support USD's students who experience food insecurity. There are 111 students registered for pantry and closet access who are in this position and benefit from community donations of food, school and hygiene supplies, and professional clothing. In spring 2022 the pantry was visited 544 times by 167 students. Students seeking access to the pantry are asked about their food and housing insecurity. 34 of the current registered users said they could not afford rent. 8 of the registered users said they have had to sleep in an abandoned building, an automobile, or another place not meant for regular housing.

As of 9/7/22 the pantry and closet are in need of the following donations:

• Cereal
• Jelly
• Snacks: crackers, chips, granola bars
• Beverages: almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, and juice
• Hygiene supplies: bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, tampons and pads
• Dental products: toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Laundry detergent pods and dryer sheets
• Gently used work attire (preferably dry cleaned)

FOUNDERS CHAPEL ALUMNI COMMUNITY
The Founders Chapel Alumni Community is invited to join in the Mass by singing and playing instruments. Please plan to arrive by 4 p.m. for rehearsal.
