(HRIS)

Human Resources professionals need complete, accurate and real-time information in order to manage the increasingly diverse, global landscape of today’s higher education environment.

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) at the University of San Diego maintains the HR web site and provides web technology solutions and services to improve the efficiency of Human Resources (HR) business processes, effectiveness of HR services and programs to customers throughout the institution.

Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) responsibilities include the identification, planning, and implementation of HRIS changes and updates in order to meet the strategic needs of the Human Resources Department.

HRIS is committed to simplifying the time-consuming transactions by automating administrative tasks and minimize paperwork, all of which drastically reduce the costs associated with lengthy human resources processes.  Through the Oracle self service features, HRIS manages and tracks information with regard to applicants, employment, compensation, benefits and payroll.  We empower employees to manage their own profiles and enables managers to maintain their employee records in a more effective manner.

Currently, the following Oracle Human Resources Self Service features are available to employees on campus:

  • The USD Employee Self Service allows an employee to view benefits information, pay slip and assignment history.  An employee can also release employment information, update personal data, make changes to the W-4 tax information, print their W-2 and manage direct deposits.
  • The USD Manager Self Service allows a manager to view employment information, as well as run personnel reports, such as DAFs, sick/vacation accruals and 1000 hour reports.
